FIGURE SKATING
The incredible story of the incredible Deanna Stellato-Dudek: “Deanna’s Dream” Documentary
09 Jan 2026
Figure Skating is full of amazing stories, but this one is truly special: single skater Deanna Stellato-Dudek retired from the sport as a teenager due to injuries only to stage a never-seen-before come back 16 years later as a pair skater. Now competing for Canada with Maxime Deschamps, the U.S. born athlete went on to win the World title in 2024 at age 40.
"I had to have that audacity to believe I could come back and actually achieve this wild and crazy dream on a path that had never been done before," Stellato-Dudek said on the Olympics.com podcast.
As Stellato-Dudek & Deschamps prepare for their Olympic debut in Milano Cortina with their eyes set on the podium, the Olympic Channel has released a documentary – consisting of two parts - telling the story of an incredible athlete and woman who has shown the world that there is no such thing as an impossible dream.
"It's about all women at any age of life who feel like they want to change something and make something of themselves —more than what they were. And that [I gave myself] the permission to do it,” Stellato-Dudek said.
