Davis/Smolkin teamed up in 2018. They have relocated to the USA for training following the 2018/19 season and moved to Canada for training in 2024. They represented Russia until 2022 and have switched to Georgia in 2023. Davis/Smolkin got married to each other in 2022. Davis' mother is the renowned figure skating coach Eteri Tutberidze, who is a former competitive skater and ice dancer as well. Smolkin is the son of Russian actor Boris Smolkin.
