Bourne and Kraatz have been skating together since 1991. They were the first ice dancers to include hydro blading elements in their routines. Victor Kraatz was born in Berlin and grew up in Switzerland before moving to Canada with his mother. Besides speaking German and English fluently, he also knows French. The team was forced to miss the 2002 ISU Grand Prix Events, because Bourne was injured.
