The International Skating Union (ISU) is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new mobile application designed for Fans and Skaters, offering them an all-new way to access, experience and engage with the world of ice-skating.  

A few months after unveiling its fully revamped website (read here), the ISU takes another significant step in its digital transformation journey with the introduction of a brand-new mobile App featuring two dedicated hubs - one for Fans and another for Skaters - offering each community an enhanced interactive digital experience. Seamlessly integrated with the ISU website and social media channels, the App forms a unified digital ecosystem distinguished by its fresh look, tailored interface, and intuitive navigation.

ISU President, Jae Youl Kim, states: “With the launch of the ISU App, we continue to turn our ISU Vision 2030 into reality by modernizing our sports while keeping skaters and fans at its very core. This new platform was inspired by their passion and created to meet their expectations, offering an engaging and immersive way to experience the beauty and excitement of ice skating anywhere, anytime. By investing in this innovative opportunity to share content and stories - both through ISU channels and those of the skaters themselves – we are reaffirming our commitment to everyone who make ice skating so special – on and off the ice.”

A dedicated space for Skaters

This new App marks a major first for the ISU: the creation of a virtual space exclusively dedicated to Skaters, empowering them with content distribution tools and resources to support their growth, amplify visibility and foster engagement with the public. Registered Skaters will have access to the same interface and data available to fans, while also owning full control over their personal ISU profile in a distinct virtual zone.

The Skaters’ Content Zone will enable them to:

• Access a curated selection of ISU images tagged with their name
• Download and save ISU competition images for free and share them easily across their social media accounts - including reels, posts, stories, and messages
• Edit and update their official ISU biography fields (visible to all users)
• Upload pictures directly to their profile (to be rolled out soon)

This dedicated digital area provides Skaters with new opportunities to elevate their digital presence, boost their social media reach, and build closer connections with their fans.  

A new digital experience for Fans

Through a personalized, user-friendly platform with live features and enhanced visual storytelling, the App delivers all the action of ISU events straight to fans’ fingertips - in one single place, making it easier than ever to stay connected to the sport.

Key features include:

• Personalized home page feeds based on favorite disciplines and skaters
• Live results and real-time event updates or viewing options (depending on geo-blocked restrictions)
• An improved search function for results and past/upcoming events
• Top moments and video highlights from ISU competitions 
• Dynamic news carousel featuring the latest skaters’ and performances’ stories 
• Comprehensive statistics, including world records, standings, and athlete biographies

As the launch of the new App coincides with the start of both the ISU and Olympic seasons, users can look forward to exciting new developments soon. Among these will be exclusive content linked to the “Skate to Milano” campaign, offering behind-the-scenes insights into skaters’ preparation and their qualification journey toward the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. In addition, advanced personalization options, detailed results, gamification features and much more will be progressively introduced to enrich the overall experience on the platform.
